Extreme cold warnings in place for places in far north Saskatchewan

Residents of areas in the far north of Saskatchewan are being asked to bundle up as Extreme Cold warnings are in place.

The alerts are in effect for Fond-du-Lac, Stony Rapids, Black Lake, Wollaston Lake, and Collins Bay.

Wind chill values in the areas are expected to reach -45 C and colder throughout Monday.

The extremely cold wind chills are expected to continue through the week, especially in the overnight and early morning hours.

As of Monday morning, no other regions in Saskatchewan are under Extreme Cold warnings but temperatures remain frigid with La Ronge hitting windchills between -31 and -38.

The Battlefords and Meadow Lake area could experience wind chills between -31 and -36.
