Swimmer dies in River

Person dies after drowning in North Saskatchewan River

One person is dead after drowning in the North Saskatchewan River on Saturday evening.

At around 6:30, the Prince Albert Fire Department responded to a call for a water rescue in the river. Upon arrival, crews received information that a swimmer entered the water and failed to resurface.

First responders managed to find, recover, and bring the person back to shore and performed CPR. The person was then taken to hospital where they were pronounced deceased.

No further information was released.
