Lagoon upgrade possible due to $662,000 of federal, provincial funding
Meadow Lake Provincial Park now has an upgrade after receiving funding from the federal and provincial governments.
After receiving $315,000 from the Government of Canada and $347,000 from the Government of Saskatchewan, Meadow Lake Provincial Park was able to update the Lac Des Isles Sewage Lagoon. The project was finished in May 2023.
“Reliable water and wastewater infrastructure protects the health and fosters the growth of our communities,” Minister of Housing, Infrastructure and Communities Sean Fraser said. “I am pleased to see these upgrades as part of the Lac Des Isles project completed. The federal government’s investment in this project has helped to ensure the protection of the park’s natural heritage so that it may continue to be enjoyed by future generations.”
The lagoon services the Murray Doell and Sandy Beach campgrounds at Meadow Lake. Upgrades included relining the lagoon, increasing treatment capacity, and re-routing emissions. The update also ensured the lagoon meets provincial and federal regulatory standards.
