An additional 33 oil and gas leases have been bought in the Lloydminster area.

The Government of Saskatchewan held a public offering on Tuesday for 157 different parcels of land across the province with 107 being leased out. This was the fourth of six public offerings the province has held this fiscal year.

The 33 leases in the area, which covers around 7,222 hectares, brought in roughly $2.7 million. There was also one exploration license that contributed to the dollar amount.

This brings the total raised in the area in the four public offerings to around $9.1 million.

The Kindersley area was the most lucrative during this latest sale as 20 leases and two exploration licenses brought in over $5.8 million.

The Estevan area generated roughly $2.5 million through 47 leases, while the Swift Current area more than $19,000 in acceptable bids.

Millennium Land Ltd. made the highest bonus bid, around $4.2 million for an exploration license in the Kindersley area, west of Kerrobert.

The next public offering is scheduled for Dec. 5, 2023.
