Oct 23, 2023 | 8:24 AM

Brace yourself, as a dose of winter is making its way to many parts of Saskatchewan this week.

Roughly half the province from the U.S. border to as far north as Meadow Lake and Waterhen Lake are under a Special Weather Statement as a shift in weather patterns is bringing cold air and possible now to the province.

(Environment and Climate Change Canada)

Environment and Climate Change said that high temperatures will drop to the single digits through much of the week before colder air moves in with temperatures in the -5 to -10 degree range by next weekend and into Halloween.

The cold temperatures will eventually bring snow to western Saskatchewan by Monday night and into Tuesday.

Meanwhile, a large portion of southern Saskatchewan including Kindersley, Outlook and Swift Current are under a snowfall warning with up to 15 cm expected from Monday night through Tuesday.
