Radiothon raises funds for province’s only PICU
Over the next two days, radio listeners from across Saskatchewan will hear heartfelt stories from children, families, and medical professionals at Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital (JPCH).
It’s part of the annual JPCH Radiothon presented by CIBC Wood Gundy broadcasting provide-wide Nov. 7 and Nov. 8 in an effort to raise funds for the province’s only Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU).
A press release from the Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Foundation said the PICU is a crucial provincial hub whose highly skilled medical professionals have specialized in training to navigate life-threatening conditions and save Saskatchewan’s sickest kids.
The release goes on to say “Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital has over 80,000 babies and children visits annually and 62 per cent of PICU patients are from outside of Saskatoon.”
