Many North West College Meadow Lake campus students were recognized for their efforts with Entrance Scholarships at a recent ceremony.

A total of $71,750 in entrance scholarships was awarded to 159 students in North Battleford and Meadow Lake campuses for the 2023 academic year.

“The Meadow Lake entrance scholarships have been a fantastic opportunity for us in partnership with the province to support growth in terms of our overall scholarships,” North West College President Eli Ahlquist told meadowlakeNOW. “In collaboration with our industry stakeholders, we’ve been able to raise over $70,000 for scholarships to support students. Specifically with Meadow Lake, we’ve had a great deal of success.

The number of students receiving scholarships in support for their education is “truly remarkable,” he said.

“Personally, I’m quite enthused to see students that are coming from the high schools in the region, receiving scholarships from the college to attend, and now receiving these scholarships through the province to North West College,” Ahlquist added.

The awards are given to students who achieve stellar academic grades, participate in extra-curricular activities and community service and demonstrate financial need.
