Serious Incident Response Team investigating death of woman in Wilkie

The Saskatchewan Serious Incident Response Team (SIRT) is investigating a woman’s death in the Town of Wilkie.
At around 7:45 p.m. on Dec. 5, RCMP officers were asked to conduct a wellness check on a woman, but she was nowhere to be found.
Nearly two hours later, RCMP were told of a 911 hang-up at a different home. When officers arrived, they found the woman who, in their opinion, needed medical care. She was taken into custody under the Mental Health Act.
Shortly after being transferred to paramedics, the woman went into medical distress and was eventually declared deceased at the hospital.
