‘Back to school’: Schools welcome students’ return

Apr 12, 2024 | 5:00 PM

Students in Meadow Lake and the Battlefords will head back to a normal classroom setting on Monday following the Saskatchewan Teachers’ Federation’s lifting of sanctions.

According to an online letter on Light of Christ Catholic School Division that was addressed to families, all schools within the board will go back to regular operating procedure. Extracurricular activities will get underway once a schedule has been decided upon and the buses will resume normal route times.

Living Sky School Division will also get back to regular scheduled schooling as stated on their website. In a phone interview with Kaitlin Harman, communications officer with Northwest School Division said there has already been hope that an agreement could be reached.

“I think we’re just maintaining that hope and optimism for a collective agreement to be reached when the two parties get back to the table next week,” she said.
