The Olive Tree will get a one-time grant of $50,000 from The Government of Saskatchewan to expand its Homebase Outreach Program.

According to a press release, the funding is provided through the Saskatchewan Housing Corporation as part of the Provincial Approach to Homelessness (PATH).

Gene Makowsky, social services minister and also the minister for the Saskatchewan Housing Corporation, said in the release that the Homebase Outreach is important to the community’s homeless in Lloydminster.

The Olive Tree provides immediate housing solutions that help individuals experiencing homelessness restore control in their lives.

“With this grant more individuals will have access to the essential community services they need. This investment reflects our ongoing commitment to enhancing housing and addiction programs while ensuring the safety and well-being of all our communities,” he said in the release.

The Olive Tree’s Chief Operations Officer, Jana Thompson, said in the release that they are incredibly grateful for the Government of Saskatchewan’s support.

She further explained that this funding will allow The Olive Tree to expand its program and help more homeless individuals.
