Snowstorm blankets most of Saskatchewan, travel not recommended near local communities
Many communities in Central Saskatchewan are digging themselves out following a major snowstorm that rolled through the province overnight.
With the dump of snow, travel is not recommended for many provincial highways as ice, loose snow, swirling snow, and drifting snow are causing issues for motorists.
This includes many roadways around Prince Albert and Melfort, while highways near North Battleford, Meadow Lake, and La Ronge were labelled as “covered”, meaning all four tires are of the vehicle are on snow or ice. Going a little further away, travel is not recommended in the Turtleford, Tisdale, or Humboldt areas.
