23-year-old wanted man arrested in Mudie Lake with illegal guns, facing 14 charges

A 23-year-old man who was wanted by Pierceland RCMP has now been caught and charged after officers found illegal firearms in his car on Jan. 21.

According to a police report, he had a warrant for not showing up in court on other gun charges following a firearm discharge in Pierceland on Oct. 27, 2024.

Officers eventually found him in a car at Mudie Lake, where they also discovered and seized a sawed-off rifle, a sawed-off shotgun and a machete.

Following further investigation, he is now facing 14 charges. These charges include:

  • Possession of a restricted weapon without a license
  • Possession of a firearm with a tampered serial number
  • Possession of a firearm while unauthorized
  • Two counts of possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle
  • Two counts of careless use of a firearm
  • Three counts of possession of a weapon contrary to a court order
  • Three counts of failing to comply with a probation order
  • Failing to comply with a release order.

He appeared in Meadow Lake Provincial Court on Jan. 23, and was remanded into custody until his next scheduled appearance on Feb.5
