Shots fired on Big River First Nation; police warn public about suspect vehicle

Mar 18, 2025 | 6:48 PM

The public is being advised not to approach a white, early 2000’s model Chevrolet or GMC, 3/4 ton long-box truck in the community of Big River First Nation.

Shortly after 5:30 p.m. Tuesday evening, Saskatchewan RCMP received two reports of gunshots fired from the truck. The vehicle has a broken rear window and is reportedly being driven by a man who may be wearing a black mask. RCMP said the truck was last seen driving northbound on Highway #739 on Big River First Nation.

No injuries were reported to police. However, they are urging the public not to approach the suspect vehicle if they see it since the occupants are considered armed and dangerous.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 310-RCMP or 911 in an emergency. Tips can also be reported anonymously by calling Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
