Man charged after 10 firearms, meth seized on Flying Dust First Nation
Ten firearms and methamphetamine were seized and a man faces multiple charges following a drug trafficking investigation on Flying Dust First Nation.
Saskatchewan RCMP’s Meadow Lake Crime Reduction Team, with assistance from the RCMP’s Critical Incident Response Team, executed a search warrant at a residential property on Jan. 27 as part of an ongoing drug and firearms investigation.
Police said officers seized about 40 grams of methamphetamine, five long guns, four airguns, a prohibited firearm, ammunition, knives and drug trafficking paraphernalia. A man and two women were arrested at the residence.
As a result of the investigation, 37-year-old Lennex Merasty-Morin of Flying Dust First Nation is facing a total of 10 charges, including possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking and firearms-related offences such as unauthorized possession and unsafe storage of firearms.
