Bridgewater teen in court after threats to schools in N.S. and Manitoba
BRIDGEWATER, NOVA SCOTIA — A 15-year-old girl from Bridgewater, N.S., is scheduled to appear in court for a bail hearing today after alleged threats to schools in Nova Scotia and Manitoba.
Police allege the girl and a 14-year-old boy from Rivers, Man., northwest of Brandon, had been talking online about their desire to simultaneously attack their local schools.
On Tuesday, police said they searched a home in Bridgewater and found handwritten plans, imitation weapons, a roughly made imitation pipe bomb and an assault rifle, as well as clothing with hate symbols.
Interpol and the FBI warned local police about the threats, with Bridgewater’s Park View Education Centre as one of the targets.
