Two men are charged after RCMP recovered a stolen vehicle and seized drugs and weapons following a foot chase in Lloydminster.

Officers with the RCMP Crime Reduction Unit identified a stolen vehicle parked in the Park Manor area on April 21. Two men fled on foot when officers approached but were arrested after a brief chase.

Mounties said a search incidental to arrest turned up the vehicle keys and what is believed to be methamphetamine.

A search of the vehicle also found additional drugs, including suspected methamphetamine, cocaine and morphine, along with unstamped cigarettes, cash and drug trafficking paraphernalia.

Officers also seized several weapons, including a billy club, a machete and numerous knives.

James Blohm, 37, of Bashaw, Alta., is charged with offences including possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and obstructing a peace officer.

William Montana, 41, of Meadow Lake, Sask., is charged with similar offences, along with additional counts of obstructing a peace officer and failing to comply with a probation order.

Both men are to appear in Saskatchewan provincial court in Lloydminster on April 27.
