Meadow Lake earns Top Municipal Initiative award for new Co-op Centre
The City of Meadow Lake has received a Top Municipal Initiative award for the newly constructed Co-op Center.
The facility was built following a devastating loss of the community’s arena, which burned in 2021. It features a full-sized ice surface with nearly 1,300 seats, a fieldhouse, a gathering hall for community events, and an attached city hall.
“It’s an amazing facility,” said Mayor Merlin Seymour. “It just shows the pride of the community to have something like this here.”
For him, this award represents the entire process – from losing the old arena to the hard work and development that helped complete the project.
