On Monday, the Riders announced that wide receiver Dylan Djete, centre Darius Bell, linebacker Osasere Odemwingie, offensive lineman Jez Janvier and wide receiver Shemar McBean have signed contracts with the Green and White after they were selected in last week’s CFL draft.

The Riders also announced Regina Thunder teammates running back Peter Boersch and receiver Benjamin Walz, as well as Saskatoon Hilltops running back Corbin Ebben, will join the team at camp as territorial junior players.

University of Saskatchewan Huskies quarterback Jake Farrell will also join as a part of the CFL’s quarterback internship program.

Djete played his senior collegiate season at Alabama State, making 28 catches for 422 yards and four touchdowns. Before that, the Levis, Que. player spent three years (2022–2024) at Wofford College.

Bell has spent the last two seasons (2024–25) at East Carolina University, suiting up for 21 games and making 19 starts for the Pirates. He brings some versatility to the offensive line group, making six starts at left guard as a junior before transitioning to centre in his senior year. The Hamilton, Ont. lineman only allowed three sacks over that time.

Odemwingie played for the University of Calgary and his hometown Dinos (2022–2025). He suited up for 31 games at linebacker with the team, registering 253 defensive tackles (171 solo), 15 tackles for loss, and three sacks.

Janvier played his senior collegiate season at Southern Mississippi, appearing in six games. The Montreal lineman previously spent four years at Eastern Michigan, where he dressed for 26 games, playing on both the offensive and defensive lines during that period.

McBean played four collegiate seasons at UBC (2022–2025), appearing in 41 games for the Thunderbirds. During his time there, he caught 158 passes for 2,477 yards and scored 13 touchdowns. The Calgary player was named a Canada West All-Conference receiver in 2025, and he earned All-Conference honours as both a receiver and returner in 2023.

Boersch is coming off a great 2025 season, leading the Prairie Football Conference with 1,436 yards in eight regular-season and two playoff games.

Ebben rushed for 380 yards and five touchdowns in eight games last season. In 2024, he had 1,188 yards in eight games, averaging six yards per carry and scoring eight touchdowns.

Walz caught 27 passes for 303 yards and one touchdown in eight games last year.

Farrell took over the Huskies offence in the sixth week of the 2025 regular season after then-starter Anton Amundrud left the team in order to undergo cancer treatment. Farrell threw for 647 yards and eight touchdowns while leading the Huskies to a 3-0 record. The Saskatoon quarterback led his team through the postseason, going all the way to the Vanier Cup.

Riders’ rookie camp begins on Wednesday, with the team’s main training camp starting on Sunday.
