Get Ready for a Shoot-out Saturday!
Last Thursday the Saskatchewan Roughriders dropped a 36-34 loss to the Edmonton Elk in what was the best game of the year so far.
It was a tough week for the Riders who learned of the death of linebacker Jayden Dalke who died in a car crash on the Sunday before the game that also killed 22-year-old Bhishma Rajyaguru of Regina.
The team had just a few days to get their heads around the tragedy with the added factor Dalke was a captain on special teams. Teams are like families and unexpected tragedies either bring out the best or the worst in families and teams.
The Riders paid tribute to Rajyaguru and Dalke before the game, but the team’s head was not in the game with the normally tight defense giving up long touchdowns due to a lack of communication, which was strange considering Rolan Milligan was returning to the defensive halfback position.
