1 – 3:30 p.m. Atlatl Demonstration with the Royal Saskatchewan Museum

Bison played a key role in the lives of many Indigenous Peoples of the prairies. Come join the Royal Saskatchewan Museum and learn about one of the traditional methods of hunting bison called an “atlatl”.

1 – 5:30 p.m. How to Homestead Self-Use Station

Discover the challenges and triumphs of homesteading on the prairies with this self-use station. Try your hand at making butter or challenge your friends and family to a game of horseshoes!

1:30 – 2:30 p.m. Living with the Land Hike with Life Speaker, Tim Poitras

Join Life Speaker Tim Poitras on a hike where you will learn about the land that is known today as Buffalo Pound Provincial Park and the traditional uses for the resources that were once here. Don’t forget to bring your nature journal!

2:30 – 3:30 p.m. Prairie Plant Geocaching

Buffalo Pound Provincial Park is home to many medicinal plant species. Embark on this geocaching quest to find these plants that learn a fact or two along the way.

4 – 5 p.m. Yarn-Wrapped Bison Craft

Did you know that Buffalo Pound Provincial Park has a bison herd? Create your own yarn wrapped bison to take home!

4 – 5:30 p.m. Stories from the Prairie Hike

Life hasn’t always been easy on the prairies. Listen to stories of communities working together throughout our past on this guided interpretive hike to the Nicolle Homestead. Meet at the Park Office with your vehicle to drive to the Nicolle Homestead.

6 – 9 p.m. Trailhead Cafe Dirty Soda Station ($)

Stop by and purchase a cold drink to sip on as you enjoy the concert.

7 – 9 p.m. SCMA Concert featuring The Kelly Bros
