Democrat Phil Weiser wins election for governor in Colorado

Democrat Phil Weiser won election Tuesday as governor of Colorado, defeating Republican Victor Marx. Weiser, the state’s attorney general, formerly served in the presidential administrations of Barack Obama and Bill Clinton. He’ll succeed term-limited Democratic Gov. Jared Polis. Marx is a Marine Corps veteran who founded All Things Possible Ministries. He previously claimed that his abusive stepfather forced him, at 7 years old, to kill a man. The Associated Press declared Weiser the winner at 9:00 p.m. EST.
