Supported Training Programs at Sask Polytechnic

There are supported training programs held at SK Polytechnic, PA Campus January 9 –May 5, 2017. There is also an information sheet attached that answers the most frequently asked questions.  We look forward to offering this wonderful opportunity for career training here in Prince Albert and area.  

Deadline for these are October 17th.

Early Childhood Education Level 1 Supported Program

Training includes:

  •          In-Class instruction of curriculum.
  •          First Aid/CPR/WHMIS Certification
  •          Food Safe Certification
  •          Training: Workplace skills, Life Skills, Family Literacy & Study Skills
  •          Complete portfolio and resume preparation
  • One on one assistance in classroom
  •          Completion of practicum/work experience
  •          Access to community supports, resources & referrals

Tuition Fees are covered by the program –  PTA Eligible

Limit of 17 participants accepted from applicants

Upon successful completion of the program, participants are eligible for employment in a child care centre in SK.

Application deadline – October 17, 2016

Security Officer Supported Program

Training includes:

  • In- Class instruction – Security Officer
  • First Aid/CPR/WHMIS Certification
  • Training: Workplace skills, Life Skills, Basic Literacy & Study Skills
  • Portfolio and resume preparation
  • Completion of practicum/work experience
  • One on one assistance in classroom.
  • Access to community supports, resources & referrals

Tuition Fees are covered by the program –  PTA Eligible

Limit of 15 participants accepted from applicants

Upon successful completion of the program, participants are eligible for employment as a security officer.

Application deadline, October 17, 2016

Criteria for Application:

  •          Assessed as level 1 or 2 Learner – free assessments provided
  •          First Nation/Metis and/or unemployed
  •          Must be prepared to complete a Criminal Record/Vulnerable Sector check.

This is a wonderful opportunity for level 1 and 2 learners wanting to enter the workforce with a certified career path.
