Hundreds of female police officers gather in Calgary at international conference
CALGARY — Hundreds of police officers from 35 countries are gathering in Calgary this week to discuss issues facing women in law enforcement.
The International Association of Women Police conference was organized by a group of Calgary Police Service members to help provide a networking opportunity for female officers.
Staff Sgt. Sueanne Ford, co-director of this year’s conference, says it is meant to empower and support women in police organizations.
The conference runs until Thursday.
