Reduce Your Tax Bill – Donate to Red Cross
2017 is just around the corner and that means the 2016 Tax Deadline is too!
You only have a few days left to support the vital work of the Canadian Red Cross and maximize your 2016 tax credit with a donation.
So, don’t wait! Your donation needs to be made by midnight EST on December 31 to receive your charitable tax credit for 2016.
Ready to reduce your tax bill?
The Government of Canada and provincial governments all recognize the important role charities like the Canadian Red Cross play in our communities, our country, and around the world.
Credits such as the $200 Rule and the Super Credit for First-Time Donors can make a big difference when it comes to tax time. But you’ll want to make your donation by December 31 to make sure you qualify.
A federal credit of 15% can be claimed for the first $200 of donations, and a credit of 29% can be claimed for any remainder of funds. Donations are also eligible for provincial tax credits, which range from 4% in Nunavut to 20% Quebec for first $200 of donations.*
Try out our Donation Tax Credit Calculator to see your combined Federal and Provincial tax credits before you donate.
By making your donation a year-end gift, you will also help the Canadian Red Cross prepare for 2017 with the resources required to help anyone who needs it, anywhere it is needed.
* Tax rates vary by province.
