FOUND: Sabrina Montgrand has been found in the forest area north of Turnor Lake and has been sent to a health care facility.

The Buffalo Narrows RCMP want to thank the community and organizations that assisted in the search.

The search continues for a teenager who went missing over the weekend in a forested area.

Fifteen-year-old Sabrina Montgrand of Birch Narrows First Nation was last seen walking in a remote wooded area north of Turnor Lake on Sunday, July 31. RCMP said she is believed to have been with some people earlier that day walking and quadding in the woods.

Sgt. Joanne Derworiz of the Buffalo Narrows RCMP said the community and police are extremely concerned for her safety.

“It’s an isolated location, all muskeg, very high moisture over the last two days, lots of rain, [there are] wolves, bears,” she said, adding, “And then she has no survival equipment, so we don’t think she has anything to start a fire or keep herself warm or dry.”

The ground search is continuing in the Turnor Lake forested area where Montgrand was last seen, according to Derworiz.

She said not only the RCMP, but community members and groups from other areas including La Loche and Prince Albert are helping with the search.

“The community is looking very diligently for her,” she said.

Derworiz said no foul play is suspected at this point in the investigation.

Montgrand is described as an Aboriginal female, 5-5 with an average build, dark brown hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information about Montgrand is asked to contact Buffalo Narrows RCMP, Turnor Lake RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
