Charges laid in weekend Meadow Lake domestic assault

Charges have been laid in connection with a serious domestic assault in Meadow Lake Sunday.

RCMP said a 36-year-old man is facing charges for aggravated sexual assault, assault with a weapon and uttering threats, among others.

The suspect’s name isn’t being released as a publication ban was requested by the Crown to protect the identity of the victim.

The man was arrested eight kilometres south of Meadow Lake after he took a three-year-old girl from a home and nearly triggered an Amber Alert. She was found safe and returned to her family.
