Blaine Johnson was born on Sept 15, 1972 in Meadow Lake. He passed away on Jan 17, 2019 in Dawson City Yukon Territory. He was predeceased by his grandparents: Arvid and Velda Johnson ; Clifford and Esther Jost; and Uncle Barry Johnson and Aunt Gloria Johnson as well as numerous aunts and uncles and other more distant relatives. Blaine went to Bible School and then University after he left home in 1990. He then moved to the Yukon in about 2002 and has lived there ever since. He made many friends there, especially among the First Nation people. He worked as a carpenter most of the time he was there. He loved the North and desired to be laid to rest there. We have respected his wishes to be buried there, so the burial will be on Friday the 25th of Jan in Dawson City. Blaine was a good son and brother to Dana (Shawna) and Conrad (Tigger), and uncle to Jedi and to daughter Mackenzie. We all enjoyed seeing him last July at a family reunion. We have happy memories of that and many other times together as a family. Blaine suffered from severe depressive episodes every winter for many years. This year was especially hard for him and he could not take any more, so he ended his own life. We mourn his loss, but we know he is at peace with God, but we will miss him greatly.
