Gateway Middle School set for Family Christmas Night

Dec 10, 2019 | 4:07 PM

The 19th annual Family Christmas Night is coming up at Gateway Middle School.

Greg Ackerman, principal at the school said the family event draws nearly 500 people.

“We do several make-and-take craft stations around the school and cookie decorating,” Ackerman told meadowlakeNOW. “We’ve been making the same famous cookies for the last 19 years using this awesome icing and the kids love it.”

Board game stations, face painting, a photo booth and apple cider will be provided to families of Gateway students.

“We used to have our grade six band students perform afterwards but we’re now having a Christmas band concert together with Jonas Sampson Middle School at Carpenter High School. We’ve moved our performance to combine with Jonas Sampson because we have the same band teacher, so that’s new this year,” Ackerman said.

Family Christmas Night happens on Wednesday Dec. 11 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

The band performance is at the Carpenter High School Theatre on the Dec. 17 at 7:00 p.m.
