Saskatchewan Horse Federation honours local chuck wagon legend Raymond Mitsuing
The Saskatchewan Horse Federation announced five individuals will be inducted into the SHF Hall of Fame in 2020. One of the five inaugural inductees being recognized is Loon Lake’s own, Raymond Mitsuing.
Flo Lavallie, Mitsuing’s nominator, told meadowlakeNOW she wanted Raymond to be recognized for his humble demeanor toward the public and his animals.
“I feel the horse industry really needs to be celebrated because years ago, there were very few horses in rural Saskatchewan. Now the horse industry has really increased and treatment of the horse has really come of age,” she said.
Lavallie, a long-time friend of Mitsuing, shared a wagon with his wife Josephine at last year’s Calgary Stampede.
