Mother killed, and three children in hospital after train and car collide in Rosthern
Rosthern and District Ambulance confirmed a 30-year-old woman is dead, and her three young children are in hospital, following a tragic crash in the community Sunday morning.
Around 10 a.m., the car the woman was driving collided with a train on Highway 312.
A spokesperson for the ambulance service told paNOW the children range in age from eight to 12 years old; and a nine-year-old girl was transported by Stars Air Ambulance to Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon.
According to a release from RCMP, the initial investigation by police revealed a car carrying four occupants was travelling east on Highway 312 when it was struck while crossing over the train tracks. The train was travelling south.
