Saskatchewan Country Closeup – Berk Jodoin

Mar 3, 2021 | 9:55 AM

Imagine if Steve Earle was a Metis man hailing from Saskatchewan. That’s what you get in a Berk Jodoin song. A no nonsense, heart and soul type of guy. With his guitar in hand, he writes and sings about the world as he sees and feels it. His songs are like a breath of fresh air.

Berk Jodoin grew up in the small, northern community of Pierceland. A town much like all the other picturesque towns throughout Canada. But in this community started the incubation that would become the backbone of Berk’s stylistic writing. “I write what I know, and I write what I see, not many fairy tales go into my songs.” Berk now calls Leader, Saskatchewan home where, with his wife Jenny, they raise their three children.
