Meadow Lake RCMP arrest heavily armed male suspect

The Meadow Lake RCMP have taken a man into custody after discovering the suspect was in possession of several illegal and illegally-owned firearms.

During the morning of March 19, Meadow Lake RCMP responded to reports of an adult male acting erratically at the 300^th block of 8^th Avenue East. When police arrived on scene, officers arrested the man and seized a 9mm semi-automatic rifle, a .357 revolver, body armour, a tazer and a blue bandana.

Austin Rylan Dolter has been charged with 12 offences including: possession of a weapon with a tampered serial number, possession of weapons contrary to order, unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of property obtained by a crime and unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon.

Dolter is expected to appear in Meadow Lake Provincial Court on March 29 for his bail hearing.
