COVID-19 hospitalizations rise to 150, province reports fourth highest new case total

There are now 150 hospitalizations in the province related to COVID-19, after a one-day increase of 19.

Less than two weeks ago, just 79 people were in hospital.

Of the 150 hospitalizations, 11 are in intensive care.

The Government of Saskatchewan reported its fourth-highest total of new COVID-19 cases in a single day. There were 1,114 new cases reported in Saturday’s update, a day after the new record on Friday with 1,425.

Of the new 1,114 cases, 70 are in the North Central, 49 in the North West, 29 in the North East, 25 in the Far North West, five in the Far North Central and four in the Far North East.

NITHA numbers

There are 27 new cases to report in Northern Inter-Tribal Health Authority (NITHA) communities. Of the new cases, three (11 per cent) are not vaccinated; two (seven per cent) was partially vaccinated; and 22 (82 per cent) were fully vaccinated.

There are 166 active cases of COVID-19 in NITHA communities. These cases are found in the Far North Central (Athabasca), 6; Far North West, 44; Far North East, 101; North Central, 8; and North East, 7. 6958 cases (97%) have recovered, and there are zero hospitalizations.
