Drugs, cash seized during three-person arrest in La Loche
La Loche RCMP arrested three people and seized multiple illicit drugs last week.
On Feb. 9, police executed a search warrant at a residence in La Loche in connection to an ongoing investigation. During the operation, officers located and seized approximately 59.3 grams of suspected crack cocaine and arrested the three suspects without incident. They also seized one milligram of methadone, a quantity of prescription drugs (some of which were determined to have not been prescribed to the individuals at the residence) and cash.
As a result of the investigation, 51 years-old Vernon Laprise, and 24 year-olds Stacy Lemaigre and Jayda Boucher-Moise, all of the La Loche area, have been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine and possession of property obtained by crime totaling more than $5,000. Laprise is also charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking opioids.
