James Edward (Ed) Maier, 71 a resident of Edmonton, Alberta entered into eternal rest in Arcadia, California on January 25, 2022

Ed was a lifelong entrepreneur. He never lacked vision when it came to his business endeavors, whether it be the meat market or his independent grocery store or his horse racing business. He was always looking for innovative and creative ways to enhance and further his business holdings.

Ed had a passion for sports, horse racing and of course spending quality time with his loved ones. He was a very kind soul and treated everyone with respect and dignity. He was a family man first and foremost and always had time for his loving wife Patsy and the rest of his family. He was loved and respected by many and will be dearly missed.

He was preceded in death by parents Hans and Rachel Maier, sister Doreen Motycka, father-in-law Joseph (Joe) Malbeuf and mother-in-law Eva Malbeuf.

Ed is survived by his loving wife of 49 years Patsy, his daughters; Lea-Ann, Rhonda (Darren), son; Scott, his grandchildren; Wynn, Ethan and Harper and his brother; Douglas (Leta).
