Updated fire bans in Saskatchewan

The wildfire season is off to an unprecedented start in the province with 86 fires, and counting, being reported in Saskatchewan so far.

With that, the majority of the province is under a total fire ban including in areas close to home. See below an updated list of all the areas that are currently under a fire ban along with the type of ban they are under:

Rural Municipalities under fire restrictions

R.M. of Cut Knife – contained firepits and incinerators are allowed, no outside burning in an open pit.

R.M. of Frenchman Butte – all open burning except for recreational campfires and BBQ’s as long as there is supervision and a fire extinguish plan.

R.M. of Manitou Lake – campfires allowed with mesh screen.
