Mervin 4H Beef Club News

On January 22, the Mervin 4-H Beef Club had their regular meeting. The date was set for public speaking. It will be held February 24 at the Mervin Complex beginning at 7:00 pm.  

Achievement Day was discussed as well as our club constitution. We then worked on parts of our record books.

On January 30, our Club took a tour of the dairy barn portion of Greenbelt Farms from Wainwright, Alberta.

We toured the new born barn, the older calf barn and then we went to the milking barn. We were shown the dairy cows and the machines. We were able to watch how the cows were milked and how the milk travels to the holding tanks. It was a great learning experience. We finished the day at Boston Pizza.
