Rene Cochin Charpentier
It is with profound sadness that the family of Rene Cochin Charpentier announces his passing
on July 27th, 2024 with his family by his side.
Rene leaves his children to mourn his departure. His son Christopher Charpentier and daughter
Keisha Charpentier (Darin Marengere). Rene cherished his children very much as they were the
center of his world and were his reason.
Along with his children, Rene leaves behind brother Marc, sisters; Denise (Brian), Michelle
(Wayne), and Nicolle (Michael), in-laws Bertha Charpentier and Bill Harrison; many nieces and
nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents Elisee and Armande Charpentier, sister Louise Harrison,
and brother Raymond Charpentier.
Rene Charpentier was born on July 23, 1955, in Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan. Rene moved
from Makwa, SK to Green Lake, SK at the age of 3 with his family, where he spent his time
growing up. He had many stories from his childhood about helping his family operate the ESSO
gas station in Green Lake SK, visiting his grandmother’s cafe, playing hockey, and the endless
adventures he had with his siblings.
After graduating from Carpentier High School in 1973, Rene found his passion for carpentry
where he never really put down his tool belt for the next 45 years. From building his own home
to helping friends and family with projects, he always put his heart and incredible talent into all
his work. Rene was a man who kept himself busy. His passions were researching family history,
refurbishing items, working in his yard while listening to rock and roll, and going for drives to find
wildlife.
Rene was a father of two children; a son and a daughter. His children were the light in his world.
He was always so proud of his kids and the accomplishments they obtained while he was with
them. Christopher and Keisha loved to laugh with their Dad, skunk him in a game of Cribbage,
listen to his stories, and kid around with him. Rene had many memories with his kids as he
taught them to drive a vehicle, swing a hammer, and partook in many adventures with them.
Rene’s children were so proud of the strength, determination, and unconditional love he showed
throughout their lives.
Rene was a proud father, but he was also a favorite Uncle. He had a special place in his heart
for his nieces and nephews. He is remembered for the countless times he organized games,
went on hikes, or taught them something about nature. These memories are often talked about
as being some of their best times.
The family of Rene Charpentier is holding a celebratory of life on August 17th, 2024 at 2 pm at
his private property. Family and Friends are welcome to join us as we share stories, have some
laughs from the memories we take away, and be surrounded by those he loved. We encourage
you to wear a rock and roll band t-shirt, as Rene loved his old-time Rock and Roll!
Dad, Brother, Uncle, and Friend – when we can laugh together again, the next game of cribbage
is on me.
