Trevon Tate will be back in green and white for another CFL season.

The Saskatchewan Roughriders have announced the American offensive lineman has signed an extension with the club. Tate is expected to be the team’s starting left tackle after Trevor Reid — the team’s Most Outstanding Rookie nominee — was released to pursue an NFL opportunity with the Minnesota Vikings.

Tate joined the Riders in August after suiting up for four games with the Calgary Stampeders. He had asked for his release from Calgary, which was granted.

Due to injuries along the offensive line, Tate was thrust into the starting lineup almost immediately and ended up starting eight games for the team at right tackle. He started the West Final against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers at left tackle.
