It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Francis “Busquale” Watchmaker of Ministikwan Lake Cree Nation on October 11, 2025, at the age of 48. Francis was known for his big heart, strong opinions, and a sense of humour that could brighten any room. Francis was deeply engaged in his community, frequently volunteering his time to help others. He was a family man and will be deeply remembered for his caring nature and the laughter he brought upon others.
A devoted son, brother, and stay-at-home father, Francis found his greatest joy in caring for his family. He loved his coffee and would often drop by to visit loved ones, bringing laughter and warmth wherever he went. To those who knew him best, Francis was someone who never hesitated to lend a hand, give advice, or share a joke that had everyone smiling.

Left to mourn with a lifetime of cherished memories are his five children Isaiah Nest, Zachariah Nest, Jackson Cannepotato, Zachary Cannepotato, Sean Fiddler and granddaughter Alazanna; his loving mother Elizabeth Watchmaker; siblings Andrew Watchmaker, Dawna Croockedneck (Stuart), Randy Watchmaker (Jody), Dallas Watchmaker, Elaina Watchmaker, and Gabriel Watchmkaer; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins, and other extended family and friends.

Francis was predeceased by his son Gaybriel Nest; maternal grandmother Maria Watchmaker; uncle John Paddy; cousins Lionel Paddy, Ryan Gladue, Darren Ben, Shawn Watchmaker, and Tia Bearboy.A wake will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at the Ministikwan Lake Community Hall, Saskatchewan.

The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at the Ministikwan Lake Community Hall, Saskatchewan.
