Calgary men charged after guns, drugs and 9 phones seized in Buffalo River

Two men from Calgary, both age 21, are facing a number of criminal charges after Meadow Lake’s Crime Reduction Team and the Dillon RCMP detachment found a half a kilogram of cocaine, a large sum of cash, a hand gun and multiple cellphones in a home.

Officers executed a search warrant a home on the Buffalo River Dene Nation on December 4.

In addition to the drugs, they found a handgun with the serial numbers removed and a rifle.

The two men will appear in court in La Loche today on charges that include trafficking, having stolen property over $5,000 and multiple gun-related charges.

One of the men also has four counts of failing to comply with release conditions and obstructing a police officer.
