Long time resident of Meadow Lake, SK; Tania passed away peacefully on December 2nd, 2025, in Valleyview, AB with her family by her side.
We were blessed with the rare gift of celebrating Tania’s 95th birthday together in September. A milestone memory.
At age 7 Tania immigrated to Canada from Syczewo, Poland. She was raised by her parents Emilian& Paraskiewa Shkopich in a family of seven with four brothers. Tania learned early the values of hard work, strength, faith, and loyalty-qualities she carried throughout her entire life.
She met the love of her life, Lorne Chapman and married in 1956. Together they built a beautiful, love-filled life. They raised three children-Gregg, Lynn and Janice.
Tania’s heart expanded even more with the arrival of her grandchildren: Seth, Heidi, Riley, and Patricia, each of whom she cherished deeply. Her great-grandchildren-Mckinley, Nora, and Emma-were her pride and joy. They represented the legacy of her maternal line, a lineage she nurtured with endless time, affection and wisdom. We are so thankful for the time the girls had with their great grandmother, all the pictures, videos and memories will be forever cherished.
A woman of many passions, Tania found joy in gardening, canning, berry picking, fishing, volunteering, and nurturing others through acts of quiet service. Her faith in God was a steady thread throughout her life, influencing the way she loved, forgave, and supported those around her. Tania had a gift for teaching others what unconditional love truly looked like-steady, patient, and without expectation.
Her life was one of service: to her family, her community, and her faith. Those who were lucky enough to know her will remember her generous heart, and the gentle strength in which she carried those she loved.
Her one of a kind vernaky, holubtsi and dill pickles will always be remembered. She took great pride in her immaculate yard and spent countless hours ensuring it was exactly that. She loved to laugh and always had time to sit and chat with all who dropped in.
Tania leaves behind a family who will forever carry her lessons, her love, and her spirit in their hearts. Her legacy lives on in the generations she nurtured, the traditions she passed down, and the countless lives she touched.
Predeceased by:
Her beloved husband, Lorne Chapman
Her son, Darryl Gregg Chapman
Her grandson, Seth Cookman
Her parents: Emilian & Paraskiewa Shkopich
Brothers: Mike, John, Walter & Daniel Shkopich
She will be deeply missed, and eternally cherished.
