Charlotte Mary Elizabeth Hawking

March 30, 1939 – January 2, 2026

With her family by her side, Charlotte Mary Elizabeth Hawking passed away peacefully on January 2, 2026, at the age of 86.

Charlotte was predeceased by her parents, Roy and Lucy Petch; her sister, Francie; her second husband, Bill Hawking; and her partner, Ron Buck.

Born and raised on the homestead, Charlotte spent her entire life in Meadow Lake, a place she loved deeply and proudly called home. She cherished her time at the family cabin at the lake and later at the Villa, where she enjoyed sharing laughs, playing cards, knitting, and visiting with her many special friends.

Above all else, Charlotte’s greatest joy was her family. She especially treasured the time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought her endless happiness and pride.

Charlotte leaves to mourn her children: Douglas Ludwig (Fern-Gai), Sandra Thurlow (Ron), Stuart Ludwig (Chantal), and Lisa Zagoruy (Bruce).

She will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren: Jeffrey (Jody), Cara (Stuart), Brock (Casey), Hunter, and Quinton; and her very special great-grandchildren: Bria, Ryder, Trey, Daxton, Sadie, Olive, and Zeppelin.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to the doctors and nurses at Meadow Lake Hospital for their compassionate care.

Charlotte will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.
