The family of Jack Weekusk announce his passing on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, in Turtleford, Saskatchewan at the age of 79 years.
Jack Weekusk was born and raised on Thunderchild First Nation. He lived each day with purpose, exhibiting meticulous attention to detail in both his personal and professional life. Jack’s work ethic was evident from a young age; he began working at just 14 years old and held various roles in farming and ranching throughout his career. His dedication to hard work was driven by a deep commitment to providing for his family.
Jack’s life was marked by resilience, kindness, and an unwavering sense of responsibility. He will be remembered not only for his contributions to his community but also for the love and support he provided to those around him.
Jack was predeceased by his wife Maryanne Weekusk; parents Antoine and Edna Weekusk; his brothers Peter, Winston, Jerry, Clarence, Gordon and Smith Weekusk; his sisters Sherry and Doris Weekusk and his children Gail and Monty.
Jack is survived by his sons Blake Weekusk and Wilson Weekusk; his daughters Hailey, Cherylyn, Jackie, Pam and Alexis; many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Cecil Weekusk; his sisters Violet, Ruth Marie and Shirley Anne Weekusk; his best friend Emma Starr; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Jack will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him.
A wake for Jack will begin at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 19, 2026, at the Thunderchild Health Centre, Saskatchewan.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 20, 2026, at the Thunderchild Health Centre, Saskatchewan.
