Meadow Lake women arrested after stolen vehicle pursuit in Lloydminster injures officer
Two women were arrested in Lloydminster Monday night after RCMP say a stolen vehicle investigation turned into a high-speed pursuit that crossed into Saskatchewan.
Officers were called around 9 p.m. on June 22 to a suspicious vehicle parked outside a local business. When they arrived, they found a red Subaru Outback with two women inside. A check of the vehicle showed it had been reported stolen out of Loon Lake.
According to RCMP, an officer told the occupants they were under arrest. The driver then put the vehicle into drive and began to pull forward, dragging the officer before fleeing the area.
A pursuit began and continued onto Highway 17 in Saskatchewan, where speeds reached more than 180 km/h. RCMP said the vehicle later doubled back south toward Lloydminster and stopped on 47 Avenue between 50 Street and 49 Street. The suspects tried to run, but were taken into custody.
