Big Book Sale returns to Meadow Lake Library this weekend

Jun 25, 2026 | 4:14 PM

Book lovers and bargain hunters may want to make a stop at the Meadow Lake Library this weekend for its annual Big Book Sale.

Tawn Marshall, programming clerk with the library, said the sale helps clear out materials removed from the shelves to make room for new items, along with donated books and media.

“There are items that have been donated from the community throughout the year,” Marshall said. “Just a little bit of everything back there.”

Shoppers can expect a wide selection of adult fiction and non-fiction, children’s books, and DVDs, with items loosely sorted into sections for easy browsing.

Pricing drops each day of the sale. On Thursday, hardcover books are $1 and all other items are 50 cents. On Friday, everything is half price. By Saturday, any remaining items are free to take home.

“Please come, take anything that you would like and help us clear it all out,” Marshall said.

The library is not currently accepting additional donations, as there is already more than enough inventory to sort and display. Marshall said every table is full, with boxes of books still waiting on the floor.

Anyone planning to attend is encouraged to bring a bag and cash.

The used book sale is just one of several activities underway at the library. Marshall said the summer reading club is also up and running, offering kids and families the chance to borrow materials, read at their own pace, take part in activities, and enter prize draws.

Throughout July, the library will also host crafts, projects, and other programming. Community members can pick up a printed calendar at the library for full details.
