Meadow Lake barricades flooded streets after thunderstorm

Localized flooding prompted the City of Meadow Lake to barricade some streets Friday evening and warn residents to stay off flooded roads.

In an alert issued at 6:43 p.m., the City said flooding had occurred throughout Meadow Lake and the surrounding area, with some streets closed for safety.

Residents were urged to avoid driving through flooded areas whenever possible and to drive slowly if standing water could not be avoided. The City also asked the public to cooperate with crews responding to the flooding.
