Meadow Lake sewage lagoon work now underway
Work is now underway on Meadow Lake’s sewage lagoon, with residents warned the first stage of the long-planned maintenance project could temporarily make the smell worse.
SaskWater was attempting to run the lagoon’s aeration system Wednesday to clear built-up sludge and debris before the equipment is removed.
The City’s contractor, Nexom, is expected to begin removing the aeration system Thursday for essential maintenance, a process expected to take two to three days.
As sludge and debris are disturbed, the City said residents should expect a temporary increase in odour until the material resettles.
