It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Rick Delmar Schroeder at age 67 on July 17, 2026. Rick was born and raised in Loon Lake, Saskatchewan on August 8, 1958.

Rick is lovingly remembered by his wife Sherri Schroeder, his daughter Resher Schroeder (Layne Jacobson), and his best friend: his dog Suki. He was proud man of many things. Always was the happiest with something to tinker on. If it was fixing equipment, to rebuilding motorcycles or working on a new project with his daughter. Rick and his daughter have enjoyed endless days working on projects together; with their latest finished project being their 1991 Dodge. There isn’t much Rick couldn’t fix or rebuild, anything he put his hands on he could work with. Rick built a remarkable career in so many trades; from mechanic, to equipment operator, to rancher to a jack of all trades. He was on the Schroeder’s Ranch for over 50 years. While on the ranch he ran game as well as doing other outdoor activities. For 15 years he worked in Rainbow Lake, Alberta with his company Rock Source; building ice roads and hauling sand and gravel to support construction and maintenance operations for the oilfields. Following his return to Loon Lake, Saskatchewan he started his next journey out on the Keebaugh’s Ranch doing what he loved.

Outside of work, Rick had a lot of passion for the outdoors. He loved time at the lake, a backyard fire, hunting or cruising in his toys. He also enjoyed a good laugh, a good prank or a good bullshit. But he enjoyed nothing more than telling a good story of the old days.

Rick’s memory will live on in the hearts of his family, friends and all who were fortunate enough to know him.
