Province commits to match federal contribution for three event centre projects
While plans are in place and shovels are ready to hit the ground once the funding has been secured, representatives from the Government of Saskatchewan and the City of Prince Albert gathered for a joint announcement regarding the next phase.
Back in February, the federal government already made a $15 million commitment to the new cultural events centre through the Green and Inclusive Community Buildings Program. Now, the provincial government is endorsing Prince Albert’s project, along with two others in North Battleford and Saskatoon, for funding from the federal government’s Build Communities Strong Fund.
MLA Alana Ross was on hand to make the announcement.
“To strengthen our partnership, Saskatchewan will cost-match the federal contribution up to one-third of the eligible project costs if this project is approved under the $5 billion Build Communities Strong Fund direct delivery stream.”
